Railcar Stabilizing Jacks
Stabilizing jacks installed on each side of the car at midpoint will help keep the
car level during loading or unloading. Jacks are custom made to suit customer height
requirements. Use at least one jack on each side of the car. Apply brakes and wheel
chocks before installing jacks.

How to determine jack height requirement:
- Measure distance from ground to bottom of car sill. Remember that car sill heights
vary.
- Decide minimum overall retracted height needed. We suggest 2" less than ground to
sill height to allow for easy installation and quick snugging-up. Screw rise of
13-1/2" is added to minimum retracted height in order to determine maximum extended
height.
